GIMP The Complete Lineart Tutorial (2.8) by TheBlackBullets GIMP The Complete Lineart Tutorial (2.8) by TheBlackBullets
I can't remember when I started this tutorial. I kept getting side tracked.

If you feel like I'm missing something, please tell me so I can add it.

Edit: I don't use GIMP much anymore. I've moved on to SAI. I don't remember much about using GIMP now.

Also, I've featured some comments that might be useful!

I put everything in single window mode and Tool options on one side with some other things, so it's okay now.

Thanks anyway! I'm still learning new things about GIMP!

When I do Stroke path in the beginning I get a thick, black line and the spots with the grey line arn't gone. Am I doing something wrong?

In Adobe Photoshop, the only way to restart the curve to straight line during the process is by pressing ALT and click the recent dot,

but is there also a shortcut key in GIMP too? I'm having difficult time.

To get your tool menu back on the other menu, drag where it says tool options to the empty bottom section of the toolbox menu c: if there isnt a blank spot, drag it down until there is ^^ hope that helps

I get lost.... but, it looks like an enhaced version of how my usual technique used to be.... i think ill try it out. Althougt. The new brush dynamics in Gimp 2.8 are awful. (the old ones were much better, imho)

My laptop is too old to handle 2.8, I've tried to download it =/ It's such a shame because I have no control over the thickness of my lines unless change the thickness manually, which takes forever!
Do you know it 2.8 allows pressure sensitivity with drawing tablets? 2.6 doesn't--at least, the mac version doesn't have that capability, and it drives me insane.
Nice tutorial though, I really wish I had 2.8 so I could put it too good use =(

I have no idea, I'm a mouse user. In 2.6 there's a way to get lines like this using the paths tool, but it's completely different than 2.8 and I'm not sure if really for a tablet user like yourself. It might slow you down a bit.

Gimp has a pentool? O_O for line art? i always though gimp kinda was well, gimpy, the interface isn't as pretty as any of the other software i've known, like photoshop and paint tool sai. Nice of you to make a tutorial, although I think you could've choose a better font, this one takes alittle more time to read.

Yes, it does. It takes some practice and getting use to, but for mouse users, it's worth it.

I don't have any nice, readable fonts. It's either this or Comic Sans.
